A Touch of Glory partners with Sisters Inspiring Sisters Incorporated to give back to the community and aid those in need several times a year.
The collaborative mission began in August 2012 where a Tools4School Community Event partnered with the City of Bladensburg Maryland (officials law enforcement, businesses and volunteers) and provided free school supplies, student hairstyles/haircuts, mentoring, activities and so much more to the youth in the community. Sponsored by Bob's Discount Furniture, Rita of Lanham and many more wonderful corporations, the event was a gratifying success.
Envisioning a way to provide makeovers to displaced women was another mission driven project. Soon after the vision presented itself, it became reality. A Touch of Glory and SIS Inc did makeovers for domestic violence victims via Safe Passage in Maryland. It was absolutely amazing!
As a part of the ongoing mission, A Touch of Glory currently offers two (2) recipients per month the opportunity to indulge in "free" hair services if you are currently experiencing or have recently endured the following:

Eagerly Ecstatic
I have suffered with alopecia for many years which led to self esteem deficiencies. Embarrassed to be amongst women with beautiful hair, I would often seclude myself. I spent excessive money on "quick fix" products that never worked. I was living in despair. While at the beauty supply store looking for a wig, I met Maggie who introduced herself and gave me her business card. I openly shared my dilemma and she told me that she could help. At first, I did not believe her however; I decided to give it one last try. I scheduled an appointment and must admit that was the best day of the rest of my life. From the moment I walked in to the time I left, I felt rejuvenated. I would describe Maggie as an inspiring miracle worker. Dread Loc Gyal
I have a combination of both curly and straight hair and it had been quite frustrating to obtain locs. Maggie used a special technique to initiate them. Now, I can say that I have long, beautiful, healthy, locs. She maintains them monthly for over a year now. She made my "dread dream" come true.

There have been times that I would leave Maggie's shop with a full makeover to include a new hairstyle and makeup. Now, how awesome is that!
Pink With Purpose
A Touch of Glory Salon and Braiding creates special "pink" wigs every year and donate them to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer via American Cancer Society for women who have lost their hair due to the wrath of aggressive treatment/chemotherapy.
This wonderful project is also dedicated to CANCER SURVIVORS as well as those that have succumbed to this devastating disease.
